SPECIALIST MEDICINE UNIT

Dr Frank Kettner
Dr Frank Kettner is the Head of TAH’s Specialist Medicine Unit, as well as a TAH partner. He has a full house, sharing his life with his wife, two daughters, three dogs, three parrots, four geese, two goats and a cat. On the adrenaline side, Dr Frank does judo and loves mountain biking. He is fascinated by electronics and programming of microchips and dabbles in beer-making at home.

Dr Elize Fletcher
Dr Elize Fletcher is crazy about her young son and daughter, as well as her two dog children, a Beagle and a Ridgeback, and loves spending time with them, as well as the rest of her family. She enjoys being active – whether it is walking her dogs or going for a run – or going to the movies with her husband. If that is not all, Dr Elize is also an avid reader and plays the piano, when time allows.

Dr Aletta Mulder
Dr Aletta Mulder loves being a vet, especially dealing with emergencies, surgery, and internal medicine. Dr Aletta has two beautiful horses on who she competes in dressage, one of her big passions. She says her cats are her family and she cannot disclose how many she has…it’s a state secret.
SURGICAL UNIT

Dr Ian Campbell
Dr Ian Campbell is a veterinarian with a special interest in surgery and prioritises in getting his creative juices flowing to balance the pressures of work, spending hours on photography, painting, and music. Dr Ian and his family (wife, two daughters and a son) loves going on camping and bush trips and can often be seen going on family walks/rides/runs with their two Rottweilers.

Dr Christiaan Triegaardt
Dr Christiaan Triegaardt grew up in Ceres and comes from a family of vets — his late father, uncle and cousin all share the same love for animals. He has always had a great passion for surgery, which led him to eventually qualify as a specialist animal surgeon. In his spare time, he loves being outdoors – fishing, hunting, diving and clay pigeon shooting. Dr Christiaan has a lovely wife and three canine children — two Staffies and a Groenendael Shepherd.
VETERINARIANS

Dr Stephen Smith
Dr Stephen Smith, a senior partner in TAH, shares his home with his wife and two kids. This is, however not where it ends: he also boasts an impressive Koi collection (with 10 fish tanks), tortoises, a rabbit, a cockatoo, a cat, four dogs and a Gabon Adder. Dr Steve is an avid bird watcher, a very handy DIY fundi, an amazing painter and sings and plays guitar in his church band.

Dr Keeley Hattingh
Dr Keeley Hattingh loves plants, especially orchids, and there are not many veterinarians that can boast having more than 50 house plants in their home! Dr Keeley is a mom to a daughter and son and fur mom to two dogs and two cats. She and her husband loves travelling around the Western Cape, exploring nature, and having fun. This is, of course, with a camera in hand, as Dr Keeley is a keen nature photographer.

Dr Anabelle Fanchette
Dr Anabelle Fanchette is originally from Mauritius but fell in love with South Africa. This mom of one loves baking and spending time with her husband and friends. Dr Anabelle’s happy place is at the beach, preferably with her dog. she is also the proud mom of two cats who have both been rescued by her husband.

Dr Anize Walster
Dr Anize Walster has always dreamt about being a veterinarian and caring for pets is truly a passion for her. This married veterinarian (who got married on 1 April) also shares her home with three cats and two dogs. In her free time Dr Anize loves to stay dit and is an avid runner, having completed the Cape Town Marathon in aid of Fisantekraal Animal Welfare). She loves good company, especially when it goes hand in hand with either coffee or wine.

Dr Christa Gerber
Dr Christa Gerber is a nature lover who sees wonders in small details like little flowers and rocks, or even her mysterious cat. She is trying to become a gardener, but feels she is, in fact, more gifted in killing plants. Even though Dr Christa has not been on a bike for more than a year, she enjoys cycling and has completed the Cape Town Cycle Tour four times. She loves reading and going to movies (dramas for entertainment and marvel superhero movies for fun).

Dr Danny Lubilanji
Dr Kabeya (Danny) Lubilanji graduated from the University of Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A devoted animal lover, he has been serving the community for a number of years. Dr Danny has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys watching football, spending time with his family, and trading punches on the punching bag with his little boy.

Dr Faseegah Johaar
Dr Faseegah Johaar is a dedicated veterinarian and proud cat mom who’s passionate about caring for her furry patients. When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her unwinding with video games, a good book, a great movie, or spending quality time with family.

Dr Hannah Burbach
Dr Hannah Burbach, originally from Germany, is married to a South African and has made the country her home. In her spare time, Dr Hannah keeps fit through gym sessions and hiking. She is an avid animal lover.

Dr Jackie Terblanche
Dr Jackie Terblanche qualified as a veterinarian in 2007 and has recently returned to TAH Bellville, where she first began her career. In the intervening years, she spent wonderful time working in animal welfare and in the United Kingdom. She says that returning to TAH feels like coming home. At home, Dr Jackie shares her life with two dogs, three lovebirds, an African Grey parrot, and her husband. Outside of work, she enjoys multi-day hikes and being outdoors. She has a particular love for photographing birds and flowers, and spending time in her garden.

Dr Kay-Leigh Selomo
Dr Kay-Leigh Selomo discovered her passion for caring for dogs and cats as a child, playing ‘animal doctor’ with her family’s beloved pets. Her dedication extends beyond her patients to making a meaningful impact on the lives of pet owners and colleagues alike. When she’s not at the clinic, this energetic extrovert channels her creativity into baking, puzzle-building, and board games, whilst also expressing her vibrant personality through singing and dancing.

Dr Kerri-Lynn Kellock
Dr Kerri-Lyn Kellock is originally from Johannesburg but quickly fell in love with the beauty of Cape Town. She loves being out in nature and often go on walks and hikes. Dr Kerri-Lyn enjoys a good adrenaline rush and have done Bloukrans bungy and K3, the longest zip line in the world. In her free time Dr Kerri-Lyn love traveling and good food and will take any opportunity to go explore somewhere new. She also loves spending time on the couch catching up on her favourite TV series.

Dr Kimone du Plessis
Dr Kimone du Plessis qualified as a vet in 2022 and is also a veterinary nurse, having qualified in 2015. Caring for animals is not just her career but a calling for which she is deeply grateful. Outside of work, Dr Kimone loves to bake – her ultimate happy place – and enjoys spending time in nature and quality time with her husband, family, and close friends. She starts each day with worship music, which fills her with hope for the day ahead.

Dr Lara Wessels
Dr Lara Wessels loves working with both people and animals, and the saying, “If you love your job, you will never work a day in your life” very much resonates with her. She is married to a large animal vet and is also the proud owner of two formerly stray kittens, Katrien and Katryn, whom she recently adopted. When Dr Lara is not at work, she spends time with friends and family. She also loves keeping active, taking part in team sports, and enjoying the outdoors. And one little secret — she is absolutely petrified of moths!

Dr Nicole Thorpe
Dr Nicole Thorpe started running a welfare organisation clinic after qualifying as a veterinarian. She shares her life with her husband, Dr Jarryd Thorpe, who also works for TAH, and her ‘celebrity cat’, Rover, who they have adopted from Dr Nicole’s previous clinic. In her free time, she enjoys travelling abroad with her husband and loves getting crafty, being outdoors in nature and spending time with their family.

Dr Sam Pillay
Dr Sam Pillay is a woman of many talents, including being an amazing veterinarian. Besides her work, Dr Sam knits, bakes, crochets, and does flower arrangements in her free time, mostly as part of her community work with her husband. She loves mentoring young veterinarians.

Dr Terri Ann Bentz

Dr Sjandré Moller
Growing up in the dusty streets of southern Namibia, Dr Sjandré Moller discovered her love for animals on her grandparents’ farm among the Kalahari dunes. Working fulltime as a vet, Dr Sjandré enjoys watching documentaries on just about any topic, hiking in the mountains, and occasionally crocheting a scarf in her free time. She is passionate about animal welfare — and this self-proclaimed dog person has now become a devoted cat mom after adopting two vivacious rescue cats.

Dr Skye Sheerin
Dr Skye Sheerin is a dedicated animal lover and outdoor enthusiast with a deep passion for small animal medicine and surgery. She enjoys spending her free time exploring nature through activities such as running and hiking. Dr Skye’s epitome of relaxation is enjoying the sunshine, with a book in my hand and a sea view. Her professional and personal life revolves around her love for animals, nature, family and friends.

Dr Tarryn Naidu
Dr Tarryn Naidu is originally from Pretoria but is thrilled to now call Cape Town her home. She is deeply passionate about pet care and helping pet owners navigate life with their beloved companions. When she is not at work, Dr Tarryn enjoys spending time with her family or curled up on the sofa with her dogs and a good TV series.

Dr Wynand du Plessis
Dr Wynand du Plessis is a proud father of two and loves spending time with his family and his Labrador. In his free time, Dr Wynand loves to do fly fishing, camping and spending time in the bushveld. In his younger years, he loved to ride on his mountain bike and plans to do it more, now that he is in Cape Town. Dr Wynand is a man of many talents: he also likes to play drums!
